CI Force (Romeo) organises meeting | Security situation reviewed | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 29: Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organised a meeting at its Headquarters today to take stock of the prevailing security situation in the area of responsibility and chalk out methodology for improving the security environment. The meeting chaired by the Major General GS Shergill, General Officer Commanding was attended by GA Khwaja, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Ajit Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, , DIG Police Rajouri and Poonch Range, S Kapoor, Deputy DIG, BSF, Rajouri and Poonch, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, VS Samyal, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri and representatives of various security and intelligence agencies. In his opening address the General Officer Commanding lauded the efforts of civil administration, police and security agencies for conduct of peaceful panchayat elections and incident free visit of over 50,000 pilgrims for Budha Amarnath Yatra. He stressed on the need of joint intelligence sharing by fastest means and conduct of Counter Terrorist Operations based on hard specific intelligence. He further stated that coordination between all security forces at various levels of functioning was the need of the hour to achieve synergy in our operations against terrorists. Participants expressed their views on improving the prevailing security situation and the measures to be adopted for maintaining peace and tranquillity in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch. Progress on the points and issues discussed during the previous meeting was also monitored. General Officer Commanding thanked all the participants for their valuable contribution. |
