| Advisory Board for OBC holds pre-board meeting | | | EARLYTIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 29:
Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Welfare & Development of OBC, Kuldeep Raj Verma presided over the pre-board meeting with the members of the board.
All the members present spoke at length, highlighted the demands pertaining to Other Backward Classes.
Issuance of one certificate OBCs instead of two i.e OSC and OBCs, construction of OBCs hostels at each district headquarter, enhancement of income slab from Rs.3 lakh to Rs.6 lakh, removal of income bar for pre-matric/post matric scholarship for OBCs students, reservation of seats in Kendriya Vidayalas for OBCs students, special development funds for the upliftment and welfare of OBCs by the state government and benefit of centrally sponsored schemes should be given to the OBCs also.
While replying to the demands raised by each member Mr Verma assured them that all these demands are being pursued vigorously with different state authorities and are under examination. He also informed that he has also submitted these demands to the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment during his recent visit to Delhi.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included A K Manawa, Rajinder Kumar Chanyal, B A Salaria, Bua Ditta, Muni Lal Badan, Imtiaz Zargar, Barkat Hussain, Mr Abdul Majid, Mukhtiar Kalia, Om Parkash Dalmotra, Vijay Kumar Manhas, Shiraz Ahmed Azhari, Romesh Kumar, Mansa Ram, Jeet Singh Sangotra and Pawan Maini. |
