| Malik reviews progress on dev works of colleges | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 29:
Meeting of Principals of Government Degree Colleges of Jammu was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister, Abdul Gani Malik.
Principal Science College Satinder Singh, Principal Women College Parade Kiran Bakshi, Principal Palora College Hemla Aggarwal, Principal GCT Bhopinder Singh, Principal Women College Gandhi Nagar Nalini Kolhi, Principal Government College of Education M. L. Parwana, Principal M.A.M College AJit Angral and Principal Commerce College J. L. Bhagat attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed Annual Plan, utilisation of grants provided by UGC, status of on-going development works, academic calendar, proposal regarding women hostel, complaints and grievance cell and their redressal.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that every college has its own identity and accordingly the authorities should have a vision, road map and line of action to bring improvement therein. He said that sincere efforts of the college authorities can bring a revolution in the functioning of the colleges and the benefit would go to the students in respect of quality education and hi-tech facilities.
Referring to the aims and objectives of organizing this meeting, the minister mentioned that the heads of degree colleges are at the helm of affairs and they only can give concrete opinion and suggestions to the government for bringing improvement in the functioning of their colleges with technical and financial support of Central and State Government. |
