Inter School Character Enactment Contest held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 29: Under the aegis of Jammu Chapter of the Sahodaya Complex of CBSE affiliated schools, the annual Inter School Character Enactment Contest 2011 was held on the premises of Jodhamal Public School on August 27. Sixteen CBSE affiliated schools from Jammu took part in the contest. The enacted characters were from mythology, folklore, fables, Shakespearean drama and history. Four students of KC Public school represented the school in the contest. Gauri Basotra gave a touching performance of mad Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet and won the first position in the senior category. Pragya Aggarwal enacted Mother Teresa convincingly and bagged the third position in the junior category. Anmol Gupta received consolation award for his enactment of the fiery character of Subhash Chandra Bose in the junior category. Sahil Tikoo did a fine rendition of the character of Iago from Shakespeare's Othello. The senior team comprising Gauri and Sahil bagged the overall third inter-school position whereas the junior team comprising Pragya and Anmol were judged second in this keenly contested event. |
