YMP organises health awareness programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 29: A two days health awareness programme was organized by Youth Movement for Peace (YMP) in village Gurha Brahmana (Akhnoor), 35 km away from Jammu. Madan Lal Sharma (Sarpanch, Gurha Brahmana), Darshan Khajuria (Naib Sarpanch) and Bimla Kumari (Panch) were also present in this awareness programme. In the programme, the people were awarded about Health, Hygiene and Water Sanitation as the condition of drinking and surrounding water is not good in rainy season. The main highlight of the program was the practical demonstration carried out by certain scientific instruments which proved the presence of microscopic impurities present in the water. It remained an eye-opener to all the people of village present in the program. The impurity level of the water of that area is 377ppm. (Parts per million) and the water with such impurity level is injurious to health. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Sharma (Chairman, YMP) said, "We should drink boiled and filtered water only and it is not good only for patients but also for children and old people. Impure water is the root cause of many harmful diseases like mental retardation, stomach disorders, hepatitis, dysentery, kidney and heart disorders. In order to prevent these, we should take boiled and filtered water only. All the people in this program appreciated the work-spirit and the zeal of the team of YMP." Vikas Sharma (Chairman, YMP), Ranjana Sharma (Vice-Chairperson, YMP), Rekha Sharma (General Secretary, YMP), Aashita (Office Adm.), Gagandeep Singh, Meenakshi Kour, Neeraj Luthra, Som Dutt Sharma, Tilak Raj and Pardeep Sharma were also present on this occasion. |
