Bajrang Dal demands amnesty for arrested Jammu youths | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 29 Bajrang Dal today accused the Jammu and Kashmir government of adopting double standards, saying it had announced amnesty to stonepelters in the Valley while ignoring those arrested during the 2008 Amarnath land row."We are demanding that government should release 196 arrested youth and withdraw cases against them registered during the Amarnath land row in 2008," Bajrang Dal state coordinator Rakesh Sharma said here today."There cannot be two set of rules from Kashmir and Jammu youth involved in 2008 and 2010 rows," Sharma, who led the protest demonstration against the government for announcement of general amnesty for stonepelters, said.Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced general amnesty scheme for youth involved in over 1,200 cases of stonepelting in the Valley during the last year's summer unrest. |
