Bhalla reviews basic amenities at Nanak Nagar

JAMMU, Aug 29: Reiterating Government’s determination for providing better basic amenities to the people of the State, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla has said the Government has taken several innovative measures for improving the living standard of the people especially those residing in peripheral areas of the State.

This was stated by the Minister today while interacting with the people during his inspection to various works, being executed in Sector-5 at Nanak Nagar area.

The Minister said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.

Responding to the people’s demands, Mr. Bhalla announces Rs. 4.75 lakh for fixation of paver tiles in 200 meter area of Sector-5 lane besides restoration of drain. He asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation authorities to complete the project by September 5 by using quality material. The Minister stressed upon the concerned engineers and officers to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works in the area for timely completion.

Bhalla said to connect rural areas with urban pockets, the execution of several ambitious road projects worth crore of rupees are in apace across the State.

At Chatta in Sunjwan, the Minister asked the SP south to establish police chowki in the area so that security of the residents beefed up. He asked the town drainage department to immediately restore the broken portion of 300 meter road linked to Chatta village by erecting crates in the nallah.
At Balmiki Basti and Lower Gadigarh, Bhalla kick started Rs 55 lakh development projects like construction of two bathrooms, waiting shed besides fixation of interlock tiles in lanes and drains.
At Jeevan Nagar, the Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of 600 x 9 feet raising wall on the left embankment of canal at Jeevan Nagar for which
Government has earmarked Rs. 5 lakh.
