BJP activists hold protest, lock Chief Education office
Allege irregularities and corrupt practices in transfers

UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Irked over the alleged biased transfer policy of teachers and malpractices going on in Chief Education office, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists today held a strong protest demonstration outside the CEO complex.

BJP workers led by State Secy BJP Pawan Gupta and City president Raj Kumar Buccha gathered outside Chief education office Udhampur and held strong protest demonstration against CEO S K Gandotra.

Party workers were raising anti-CEO and education department slogans demanding cancellation of all the transfers made by CEO in sheer violation of rules and regulations set by government.

The BJP activists got further agitated when they came to know that CEO is not sitting in his office chamber. They locked his office from outside making all the employees hostage for more than three hours. Party workers alleged that CEO often remains out of office. They said that had visited CEO office on Thursday and had given prior information to Section Officer that party deputation will come again on Monday to discuss problems of teacher community and villagers .

Meanwhile additional SP Rajinder Gupta and assistant commissioner Revenue Gurvinder Singh immediately reached the spot and pacified agitating party workers Speaking on the occasion state Secy Pawan Gupta alleged that Chief Education Officer Udhampur has turned into corruption hub as ministerial staff working under CEO openly demand bribe and made proposals as per place of choice of teachers after taking bribe and those who fail to pay it suffer.

He alleged CEO has transferred several teachers against the sheer violation of rules and with the direction of some political leaders. He added that the transfers have taken place in the mid of the academic session and these are bound to affect the working in the schools as at some places where there were already shortage of teachers have been transferred.

He demanded inquiry in the irregularities in recent transfers made by CEO and also into the working of CEO office .He also demanded transfers of ministerial staff working in CEO office from last several years and running their private academies in city.
