Jammu Municipal Corporation seals buildings

JAMMU, August 29: Under instructions from S C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff undertook a drive in areas of Trikuta Nagar and Janipur against the violations and took actions under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.

The team sealed the ground floor of the building of Swatanar Kumar S/o Late Roop Lal at Ext 2 Trikuta Nagar, Jammu where the outlet of Easy Day Showroom was being run creating traffic jams and also causing noise pollution due to the genset installed much to the annoyance to the inhabitants of the locality.

The team also sealed the building of Kundan Lal Koul S/o Late Gopi Nath Koul at Basant Nagar, Janipur, Jammu as the said person was continuing with the finishing work of the building in violation of the Status – Quo order of the J&K Special Tribunal.

This drive has been conducted with the assistance and co-operation of police force from Trikuta Nagar Police Station and from District Police Lines, Jammu.

Further, the Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the general public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken.

Besides this, while continuing the drive against the adulteration of milk the Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith field staff visited the areas of Talab Tillo, Patta Paloura, Shakti Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Resham Ghar Colony, New Plot, Janipur, Bantalab etc. During the drive 105 milk cans were checked, out of which 03 milk cans which were of sub-standard quality / not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot. The team had also lifted 06 stray animals from the areas of Ambphalla, New Plot, Talab Tillo, Bhagwati Nagar, Channi, Nai Basti, Shastri Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Kunjwani, Greater Kailash etc. and impounded the stray animals in Municipal Cattle Pound. A total fine of Rs. 3150 was charged from the erring milk vendors and owners of the stray animals on spot. The Municipal Veterinary Officer also treated the sick and injured animals in the Municipal Veterinary Clinic.
