JPPF concerned over state’s double standards
8/30/2011 9:37:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 30: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) in its meeting chaired by Pavitter Singh expressed its grave concern over the discriminatory attitude of Kashmir Centric state government to which Jammu has been made to suffer since decades in all the spheres of developmental and political neglect.

The day in and day out statements ensuring guarantee for equality to all the 3 regions have proved totally false, it said. The standard of neglect and discrimination has fallen to such an extent that even the Jammu bound media and press has not been spared.

In his historic press conference for which the CM had even cancelled the Iftaar Party slated for hosting at Jammu on August 28, 2011 Jammu media and press was conspicuous by their absence reason being simple that no invitation was extended to them.

The CM announced besides other things amnesty to 1200 Kashmir youth stone pelters detained during 2010 in valley. He forgot the release of 196 Jammu youth falsely implicated in non-bailable offence cases during 2008 Baba Amarnath agitation languishing in jails who were detained during Baba Amarnath Yatra agitation during 2008.

JPPF makes fervent appeal to the Chief Minister to respect the sentiments of Jammu people as well and order withdrawal of cases against the delayed Jammu youth as well.

Even as per agreement reached between the Baba Amarnath Yatra Samiti and the Governor the cases were to be withdrawn which has not been done till today.

Besides others meeting was also attended by Inderjeet Khajuria president AHJLA, Narain Singh president, Rajput Sabha, ML Sharma, Rajiv Mahajan state president Shri Ram Sena (J&K), Avinash Bhatia, Gajan Singh Khajuria, MS Katoch, Gajan Singh Khalsa and BL Bhardwaj.
