Stadium with modern facilities at Sunjwan soon: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 30: For maintaining ecological balance and ensuring pollution free environment, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has appealed the people to plant more and more ornamental plants in the available open spaces of their respective areas adding that such type of efforts not only beautify the grimy areas but also provide disease free health.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the locals after planting the ornamental plants on the embankments of Trikuta Nagar Sector-4 nallah strip, here today.
District Urban Social Forestry Officer Naveen Kumar Shah besides large number inhabitants of the area were present on the occasion.
Bhalla asked the residents to adopt atleast 20 planted saplings and asked them for personally monitor their development in providing timely irrigation.
For boosting adventure tourism in Bahu Fort area, the Minister said that Government has earmarked Rs. 91 lakh for beautifying wayside open spaces to Bawe-Wali Mata shrine by creating landscaping, view points, tug shop, toilet blocks, fencing, illumination, drinking water besides construction of darshani deodi near Kalika colony adding the place would become a source of major attraction for the pilgrims and tourists and help in diverting those visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi .
The Minister asked the land encroachers not to see the dreams for encroaching the State land adding that Government has constituted a special squad for eviction of land from illegal occupants forcefully with the help of Police department.
At Babliana village, the Minister announced Rs 6 lakh for replacement of damage water supply pipes.
To improve the drinking water facilities in the village, Bhalla informed that Government has already dedicated a deep drill tube well costing Rs. 1 crore and 25000 gallon storage capacity Over Head Tank costing Rs. 80 lakh.
At Trikuta Nagar Extension near Nidheesh Apartments, the Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of box type causeway, coming at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakh.
Later, Bhalla visited Government Higher Secondary School, Sunjwan and inspected the 35 kanal proposed site for construction of Stadium in the institution.
