EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 31: In a petition filed by representatives of various villages challenging the May 15, 2011, notification and also seeking its quashment, high court judge, Justice Virender Singh has issued notice to Union of India through ministery of defence (MoD). According to the petition, the notification restrains the petitioners and others from making use of their own properties in contravention of the works of Defence Act 1903. They sought quashment of the notification. After hearing the counsels, Justice Singh issued notice to Union of India through MoD, commandant, 15-field ammunition depot, 56 APO, and deputy commissioner, Jammu, returnable within two weeks. The court directed the registry to list the case after two weeks. In the petition, it was submitted that deputy commissioner, Jammu, had in his March 29, 2011, communication instructed petitioners and others against the use of their properties situated within 1,000 yards from the outer parapet of the work of 15-FAD, 56 APO.
