Anna taught Union is Strength | | Yudhvir Sethi | 8/31/2011 9:44:26 PM |
| Historical decision taken by the Lower and Upper Houses of Parliament towards acceding three demands of Anna Hazare and his team has indeed once again proved that ours is the best democracy in the world , where voice of the masses is not ignored. Although the Congress-led UPA made repeated attempts to ditch the Anna's team but it failed to continue with its tirade against Anna's team and had to take step back realizing its mistakes and understanding the gravity of the situation. The unity among opposition parties too forced the UPA to abandon its rigid attitude. The union government got helpless against this unprecedented unity. Men, women, old, young, children, all coming on roads, was the indicator of anger and resentment against the prevailing system in the country. .After movement of Mahatma Gandhi and Jaya Prarkash Narayan, it is said that the nation witnessed third massive non-violence movement under Anna Hazare. It also gave a new direction to the politics in India . Although there were some utterances against Civil Society by some leaders, particularly belonging to Congress, but that does not mean every leader or every MP/MLA has the same thinking. We need to respect these elected members and not adopt the same yard stick for every one. It must be our moral duty to unite the nation in one thread instead of dividing it on communal or regional basis. Anna's agitation also proved that every Indian citizen, irrespective of his caste, creed, colour, region or religion, comes togther when it is felt that their voice is not heard or ignored and united movement can only make the government to act as per the wishes of the masses. It is not only the corruption which has extended its tentacles in every sphere of Indian society, the nation is also concerned about the Indian money being stashed into foreign banks amounting to lakhs of crores of rupees and which needs to be brought back in the country at the earliest. It is the right time for the present Congress-led government at the centre to also understand that the people are deeply talking about the black money and may be one day people again come on roads to build pressure and awake the government to take effective and immediate steps to bring back hard earned Indian money. The government should not wait for the repetition of a situation witnessed during the thirteen days Anna Hazare' s massive agitation and it should take this work on priority. |
