| Decoity accused held in Akhnoor after 3 yrs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 31: Absconding since 2008, an accused in a decoity was today apprehended by police at Akhnoor.
He was identified as Ganesh Kumar alias Ganeshu, son of Om Prakash of Palwan Camp, Akhnoor.
Police sources said Ganesh and five other accused had in 2008 looted Rs 12,120 from grocery shop owner Vijay Kumar who was returning home after closing his shop in Akhnoor market.
While four accused were arrested by Akhnoor police after few days of the decoity, Ganesh and Ankush, son of Tilak Raj of Akhnoor, were absconding.
Only Ankush was to be arrested now, the sources added.
A case was registered against the six accused in 2008 at Akhnoor police station under section 395 of RPC.
