| Hirdesh discusses provisions of Roshni Scheme with Revenue Officers | | | JAMMU, DEC 3 District Development Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh convened a meeting of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and Patwaris to review the Roshni Scheme 2001 for conferring ownership rights to state land occupants. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Singh said that collection of forms for ownership of state land is fixed upto January 21, 2007. He asked the participants to educate people about the scheme so that rebate incentives are properly availed by them. Elaborating, he said that the rate of land in Village and mohalla-wise would be determined by the committee headed by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr Pramod Jain who is the chairman of the committee besides Deputy Commissioner and A.C Nazool as its members. The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that rebate of 25 percent would be given to those who pay the cost within three months followed by 15 percent rebate after three months and after six months a concession of 5 percent would be given and thereafter only 2 percent rebate would be applicable. Moreover, those people who pay the compensation amount of land after three months will have to pay penalty of 5 percent, after 6 months penalty of 15 percent and beyond the period 25 percent penalty would be imposed. He further elaborated that 50 percent concession would be given to commercial land occupants while 15 percent rebate for the land used for institutional and agricultural purposes. |
