NPSU lambasts govt for ‘discrimination’ with Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 31: National Panthers Party’s Student wing today lambasted the Congress-NC coalition state government for its apathetical attitude towards the Jammu province as this government is only thinking about the development of Kashmir province only. Addressing the press conference at Party headquarters, Partap Singh Jamwal took serious note of the policy of the state government for the distribution of the funds. He said that Rs 1100 crore has been sanctioned for Dal Lake, Rs. 386 cr. has been sanctioned for Woolar Lake and Rs. 2500 cr. has been sanctioned for the beautification of the Jehlum river whereas the lakes of Jammu region with historical importance has been ignored by the government which shows clear apathetical attitude of the state government. He disclosed that only 10 lakh approx. tourists visits Kashmir every year out of which 5.5 tourists are Amarnath Yatries whereas in Jammu more than 1 crore yatries visit every year but still the Jammu province is being ignored by this government. Jamwal said that it is very much unfortunate that in spite of living in the same state, the peoples of Jammu region are being ignored by the successive governments of the state since 1947. He said that the NPP will not tolerate this step motherly treatment of Kashmiri and central leadership and will fight tooth and nail to serve justice to the people of Jammu region.
