| Separate yards for SRTC buses, trucks: Hakeem | | |

A deputation of employees of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) union called on Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohmmad Yaseen here today and apprised him about their demands. The demands includes release of their pending salaries, promotion avenues and provision for G. P. fund.
The deputationists also put forth some suggestions for further improvement in the functioning of the corporation.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into. He also appreciated them for their valuable suggestions.
Hakeem Yaseen said that Government contemplates to streamline the fare structure for SRTC trucks required by various departments adding that the carriage charges of SRTC as well as private trucks need to equalized. He said government is also considering setting up of separate yards for SRTC buses and trucks in capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
The minister called upon the employees of the corporation to work with devotion and dedication to make it more profitable entity which he said would help in improving their working conditions as well as facilities. |
