PUNJAB CM BATS FOR BHULLAR | Omar’s Tweet hits hard at BJP | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, September 1 : Notwithstanding his `clandestine’ relationship with the BJP, Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has hit hard at the party. In his latest tweet, Omar wrote : "I'm curious to see what Shahnawaz Hussian & the other BJP chaps are gonna say now. This is their Government in Punjab, Omar wrote on the famous micro blogging site a day after nation reacted to his tweet on Mohd Afzal Guru.”
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had written a letter to President Pratibha Patil to re-examine Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar's mercy plea.
The letter has been written under pressure from Sikh groups, who have taken a cue from Tamil Nadu Assembly's resolution seeking clemency for Rajiv Gandhi's killers.
Badal has written to the President asking for review of the death sentence of Bhullar, who is on the death row after being convicted in the attack on former Youth Congress chief MS Bitta. He has been convicted for carrying out a bomb blast in New Delhi outside the All India Youth Congress headquarters in 1993, in which nine people were killed and Bitta seriously injured.
In his defense Omar further wrote,"If you want to see evidence of the messenger being attacked because some people don't like the message check my timeline. Earlier in the day Omar decided to hit back at his detractors who thought that Omar would avoid tweeting. In a crisp tweet Omar said," Just in case anyone is under the mistaken impression that I've been bullied off twitter - sorry but here I am & I'm not going anywhere."
