| IMFAA demands trifurcation of Cultural Academy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 1:nstitute of Music and Fine Arts Alumni (IMFAA) has demanded trifurcation of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages into Lalit Kala (Art), Sangeet Natak (Music & Theatre) and Sahitya Kala (Literature) for proper utilization of Government funds and to promote these wings in an appropriate manner.
Academy is at present promoting only Secretary’s sycophants and blue eyed in the office instead of promoting Arts, said a press handout issued by IMFAA.
It further said Academy has only six qualified persons in the field of Art and culture and 38 in the field of languages and remaining more than 200 people are in clerical field while at national level only expert people are appointed to run these three wings of Art.
It is a great need of time to send dead fishes out of Art, Culture and Languages to other departments, the release added.
From last two years there was not a single mega cultural programme organized by the Academy.
Ashwani Sharma President IMFAA said that day before yesterday Secretary again promoted persons, promoted last year also, who are his close associates.
Sharma demanded immediately removal of Secretary, whose tenure completed on August 31and an inquiry by Vigilance Department and State Accountability Commission besides appointment of an IAS Officer as secretary, so that Academy can blossom with full swing.
