| Prof. Soz along with Director UNESCO visit Dal Lake | | |
Srinagar, Dec 3
Union Minister to water Resources, Prof Saif-ud-din soz today along with Director UNESCO, Ms. Mina Yang visited the world famous Dal Lake and took stock of the steps taken by the government for its conservation. The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vice Chairman Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA), Director Tourism and senior officers from LAWDA accompanied Prof. Soz during his tour.
Prof. Soz was informed about the measures undertaken by the authorities to deal with encroachment and discharge of solid and other waste material in the lake, which has threatened its existence.
Prof. Soz during his tour asked the authorities to redouble their efforts initiated to preserving the water body. He said that resources would not be a constraint in the conservation efforts, initiated by the Government. |
