NC hijacked PDP agenda: Mir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 2:- Accusing Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah of hijacking their agenda, the PDP General Secretary, Dilawar Mir said the National Conference led coalition government had added to peoples’ woes.
Mir talked about uninterrupted power supply and adequate potable water availability. “Prolonged load shedding has made life hell especially in Jammu which was hit by severe heat wave”, he said. He said during PDP led coalition rule, Mufti Sayeed, had educed load shedding from 10 hours to three to four hours. Mir blamed the Chief Minister of not remaining in touch with the people despite Awami Darbar Sessions. “Five month long civilian strife and the current spell of clashes between the stone throwers and the security forces simply reflected the level of anger among the people, especially the youth in the state”, he said. . Accusing Omar of hijacking PDP Agenda, Mir said he has been talking about repeal of AFSPA and demilitarization. Refusing to give credit to NC led rule for improvement in the situation, he said there were other factors responsible for it Mir wanted sustained and meaningful dialogue process between India and Pakistan which could be backed by confidence building measures aimed at reducing the trust deficit. If these take place Kashmir will witness peace and normalcy
