Demonstration against lack of facilities at SDH held

Thousands of students, people and representatives of various political parties today protested against lack of adequate facilities and negligence of doctors that allegedly led to death of two injured persons, here yesterday.
Three persons were critically injured after a matador bearing number JKO6 0929 they were traveling in fell into a deep gorge at Manthala about 4 kilometers from here.
People took out a procession and demonstration and protested against Hospital authorities and local administration for failing to arrange Ambulance for shifting the injured to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment. People alleged that the injured died due to non availability of specialized doctors and arrangements for shifting them to Jammu Medical College.
Protesters passed through various markets and shouted slogans against the SDH Bhaderwah authorities, local administration and Chief Minister who represents Bhaderwah in Legislative Assembly.
The protestors demanded immediate suspension of all Doctors and officers of SDH Bhaderwah for their negligence and demanded high level probe in to the whole matter as soon as possible.
The demonstrators included students, prominent citizens, and leaders of various political parties. “The injured died because there was no doctor to attend the injured neither there was ambulance to shift them to GMC Jammu” said senior Panther Party leader Mohd Iqbal chowdary .The protestors also alleged that not a single person from the local administration came to SDH to make some arrangement for shifting the injured. People made to shift the injured to GMC Jammu in private vehicles.
The students were led by Mohd Sajid Malik, president of the College union and Distt-President NSUI. “We demand suspension of doctors of Hospital who could not attend to the injured”, a student of Degree College Bhaderwah told News Agency of Kashmir. He said that people would launch a mass agitation if government would fail to provide adequate medial staff and equipments for the Hospital.
The entire town observed complete bandh as all educational institutions, offices and business establishments remained closed for the whole day.
Protesters demanded high level probe into the absence of specialized doctors and non availability of ambulance at the hospital.
