Book fair organised by NBT starts today

JAMMU, Sep 2:

National Book Trust (NBT), India, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, is organising a book fair here at
Kala Kendra.
The 9-day long fair will start from tomorrow and conclude on September 11.
Over 60 publishers, distributors, government institutions and others involved in book trade are participating in the fair. A number of activities, for children and a meet-the-author programme involving renowned litterateur Padma Sachdev are being organized during the fair.
The book fair which will showcase latest publications in Hindi, English, Dogri, Kashmiri, Urdu, Punjabi and other languages is to be inaugurated by Abdul Gani Malik, Minister for Higher Education.
Noted litterateurs Mohammad Yusuf Taing and Padma Sachdev , and Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages will grace the occasion as special invitees. An NBT publication in Hindi Shabad Milawa, authored by Padma Sachdev will also be released on the occasion. The book fair is being organized in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and District Administration, Jammu.
The activities being organized by NBT during the book fair includes meet the Author:
Padma Sachdev, at 6 pm on September 4, a creative writing workshop for children at 10 am on September 5 , a book review workshop for children at 10 am on September 6, a book quiz for all book lovers at 6 pm on September 6, a workshop for children on How to prepare a children's magazine at 10 am on September 7 and a storytelling session for children at 10 am on September 8. In addition, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages would hold a presentation of folk dance performance on tomorrow after the inaugural function and also a Mushiara by poets in various languages on September 5 at 6 pm.
