Early Times Report

Jammu,September 2 :-If the inputs from the Intelligence Bureau(IB) are any guide the border scene in Jammu and Kashmir may witness exchange of fire between the two armies, even violations of the ceasefire, simply to facilitate ingress of militants into the state.
Official sources,on the basis of the latest IB report, said that large groups of militants, equipped with highly sophisticated weapons, have been brought on the launching pads across the LOC in various sectors.
Sources said that these groups of militants were waiting for an opportunity for crossing into Jammu and Kashmir.Of late the terrorist activities have multiplied in border areas in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. This indicated that the emphasis was going to be laid on sending militants into the Kashmir valley from across Kupwara,Keran,Tangdhar,Gurez and Karnah.
Government sources said that this was the reason that a number of border ceasefire violations by he Pakistani troops have been reported from Kupwara,Keran and Karnah sectors.Sources said that the Pakistani forces were so much desperate in pushing into Kashmir groups of militants that they tried to move forward in Keran sector in their bid to carve out ingress passage. In the process three Pakistani soldiers were killed in the retaliatory fire opened by the Indian troops.India lost one soldier in the incident. In the process series of encounters between the security forces and the militants have taken place in Kupwara district during the last three months in which more than 15 militants were killed.
According to the IB inputs agencies across the border would make determined bids to push militants into Jammu and Kashmir .The IB report has indicated that several groups of militants have already crossed into Jammu and Kashmir.
This seems to have made it mandatory on the part of the Defence Ministry to deploy at least five more battalions of troops on the LOC and the IB so that whereever it was needed unmannd routes were fully plugged.
Agencies across the LOC are upset over the marked decline in the militancy related activities and violence and hence they want fresh groups of militants to cross into Jammu and Kashmir so that the state witnessed fresh scenes of death and destruction.(eom)
