Rs. 2600 cr for augmentation of health infrastructure: Sham Lauds 29 RR for donating health equipment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 03: To upgrade the health infrastructure across the State, the Government has formulated a comprehensive proposal of Rs. 2600 crore and submitted to the Central Government for funding. The proposal is aimed at to shift all the health institutions which are functioning in the rented accommodation to government buildings. This was revealed by Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma while addressing a function organized by 29 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) at village Wanigam Payeen in Pattan today. Minister of State for Health & Medical Education & Roads and Buildings, Mr. Javaid Dar, MLA Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Rakesh Khajuria, Director, Indian System of Medicines (ISM), Dr. Abdul Kabir, Mission Director, NRHM, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Health Services, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rahman, Project Director J&K AIDS Control Society, Dr. Wasim Qureshi, Director Horticulture, Dr. G.H.Shah, CO 29 RR, Col. Parshant Panday, large number of army, civil officers, besides prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion. Listing remarkable achievements in the health sector after the formation of present coalition government, the Minister said with the sincere efforts of employees from bottom to top, the department has touched new heights and captured top slot in primary healthcare in the country. This is the best ever performance of the department and “we have to work hard to maintain this position in future too”, said Mr. Sham. Seeking support from the society to help in improving the work culture in the government offices, the Minister said it is the duty of the people to spread a message among the youth to take up their duties seriously and serve the society with utmost zeal and dedication. He said work culture in the government offices has hampered during the past some time, but now time has come when we all have to work together and make our State prosperous. He said newly elected Panchayat representatives have great responsibility on their shoulder and they should supervise the performance of the health institutions falling under their jurisdiction, he asserted. Lauding the role of the army authorities, particularly of 29 RR for carrying out various social activities in different parts of the State, Mr. Sham said that army is always at the forefront in difficult times to extend its help to the government and people. He hoped that the army authorities will be more liberal to help the civilians in different fields. He stressed on building more confidence between army and civilians to ensure peaceful environment in the State. He thanked the 29 RR for donating hospital equipments worth over rupees one lakh to the Primary Health Centre, Wanigam-Payeen Pattan under Sadhbhavana Project. Responding to the demands of local MLA Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, the Minister announced one ambulance, one x-ray unit with trained Technician for PHC, Wanigam-Payeen. He issued instructions to Director Health services for doing the needful within a period of two months positively. As regard construction of Trauma hospital at Pattan, He directed for completion of execution work in a time bound manner and immediate release of balance funds for the project. School children presented patriotic songs on the occasion which were highly applauded by the audience.
