| Govt to honor best teachers, students on Sept 5 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Sep 3: The state government will honor best teachers and students on Teacher Day celebrations on September 5 at SKICC here.
The function where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the chief guest is expected to be attended by atleast ten thousand teachers from across the state.
Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed told KNS that the government has planned to celebrate the event in a big way. “Gold medals will be awarded to those students who topped in their respective streams in Board exams in the last two years,” he said.
“To encourage the best teachers and best students, different awards will be given. Scholarships to SC/ST students will also be given on the occasion,” he added.
The Teachers Day functions will be also held on September 5 at other places of the state.
