GCW Parade organizes workshops | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 3: Govt. College for Women (GCW) Parade inaugurated two parallel workshops on “Emerging Trends in I.T” and “Career Counseling job skill development”, sponsored by Department of Science & Technology & UGC respectively. Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment Abdul Ghani Malik was the chief guest and Director Colleges for Higher Education Dr. Sham Lal Gupta presided over the function. In her welcome address Principal Dr. Kiran Bakshi extended warm welcome to chief guest and other dignitaries. She said that country is poised to achieve transformation from being developed country into developed country by 2020 and education alone can help in the realization of this Goal. Minister for higher education speaking on the occasion stressed that national and international agenda of literacy and education will have to be driven in a mission mode by public policy. He stressed that apart from academic curricular and co-curricular activities are very important for the overall development of the students. He appreciated college administration in taking lead in conducting such events. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta lauded the efforts of college in organizing such seminar and workshop and appreciated Principle of the college and her team for such initiatives. Maruti sharma presented key note address. Prof Minu bala was the resource person .Prof Parveen singh coordinator placement and guidance cell presented vote of thanks.
