DGPC held a meet | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, September 3: District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu held a meeting to deliberate recent developments at central Government level, concerning Sikh Nationality. Government of India through a notification during 2003 had clarified that Sehajdhair Sikhs have no voting right in SGPC election. A few days back media reported about the withdrawal of the above notification of 2003 which inter-area allows the Sehajdhari Sikhs to participate and cast their vote in the SGPC elections. De-notification report in the press, the Sikhs throughout rightly expressed their anguish. Denial of withdraw of notification was promptly issued by the government of India, providing a bit of relief to the Sikh masses .But, Government of India is required to suitably amend the Gurdwara act of 1925, conferring voting right to the Sikhs alone and non else. Second important issue concerning the Sikhs, is the non implementation "Anand Marriage Act", passed in 1909 during British Rule. Sikhs of J&K assure the Sharomani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Amritsar and the Sikh clergy as well, of their full support, for their a call for the "Best interest of the Sikh Panth",
