Doda teachers allege irregularities, corrupt practices in adjustments

UDHAMPUR, Sep 4
Majority of teachers promoted to master grades recently has alleged irregularities and corrupt malpractices in the transfers and adjustments of Master Grade teachers by Chief Education Officer (CEO), Doda.

Irked over the recent adjustments of newly promoted master grade teachers, District Teachers Forum held a meeting under the presidentship of Rajinder Singh and Ajaj demanding cancellation of all the transfers and adjustments made by CEO Doda in sheer violation of rules and regulations set by government.
The forum members said that in some cases under the political influence teachers have been adjusted just with in 10 to 15 kilometres radius who were already serving at Bhaderwah tehsil headquarters but some females who were having genuine problems were transferred out of tehsil as they were not having any ‘godfathers’ and had not paid to touts in CEO office.
Teachers alleged that CEO keeping aside all norms adjust most of his community members at nearest approachale places but did not listen problems of those who were already serving ten to fifteen years out of station.
Teacher community has demanded intervention of Director School Education in this regard and has threatened to launch strike if their genuine demands are not addressed. Teachers have alleged that Chief Education Office Doda has turned into corruption hub as ministerial staff working under CEO openly demand bribe and made proposals as per place of choice of teachers after taking bribe and those who fail to pay it suffer.
Teacher community demanded inquiry in the irregularities in recent transfers made by CEO and also into the working of CEO office.
They also demanded transfers of ministerial staff working in CEO office from last several years.
