10+2 contractual lecturers hold convention, demand regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Sep 4:The lecturers working on academic arrangements in 10 +2 institutions across the State demanded regularization on the patters of regularization of adhoc/contractual employees working in other departments, The demand was raised in a one day convention of Lecturers working on academic arrangement in 10 +2 institutions in the state under the banner of ALL 10+2 contractual lecturers Forum. Speaking on the occasion state president of the forum Arun Bakshi strongly criticized the state govt for not including 10+2 academic arrangements lecturers in the policy of regularization of Adhoc/contractual Employees who have completed 7 years of service. When all the contractual /Adhoc employees are being considered in the regularization policy, even in colleges who have been appointed on academic arrangements basis are also assured by the govt of their regularization after 5 years of service, than why we are being ignored, asked Bakshi. Speaking on the occasion Asif Ahmed said it is very unfortunate that in a state 10+2 contractual lecturers are getting remuneration less than a 4th class employee, he demand the revision of monthly remuneration on the pattern of other contractual/adhoc employees of the State. “There has to be some policy in place for us. It can’t go like this. This is sheer exploitation,” he said. He threatened that the contractual lecturers would go on strike if the demands were not fulfilled immediately. “We have been running from pillar to post, but the senior functionaries of the government have shown indifferent attitude towards our grievances,” the other speakers said. Hundreds of contractual lecturers from Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi Jammu and Doda took part in the convention.
