| Def Sec on 3-day visit to Kashmir | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Sept 4 (KNS): After assuming the post of Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma is on a three day visit to the Valley. The Defence Secretary is accompanied by Lieutenant General AS Lamba, Vice Chief of Army Staff.
According to a defence communiqué the high level delegation was given a detail brief on the current security situation in Jammu & Kashmir and the recent ceasefire violation by Pakistan by HQ Northern Command and Lieutenant General SA Hasnain, General Officer Commanding, Chinar Corps.
The Defence Secretary is also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Governor NN Vohra. He is also scheduled to visits troops on the line of control and would be briefed as various operational aspects. |
