Two hideouts busted, two apprehended, body of a young lady recovered

State Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Qarra escaped unhurt when militants blasted a grenade on his motorcade in Gool area of Ramban area today, Security Forces busted two militants’ hideouts in border districts of Poonch and Rajouri while two persons carrying some ammunition were apprehended in Poonch. Body of militant’s wife was recovered near a cave in Premnagar area.
A Defence spokesman said that State Finance and Planning Minister had a narrow escape today when some militants hurled a grenade about 800 metres ahead of his motorcade in Ramban area but missed the intended target, However, there was no loss and the Police is investigating.
The spokesman said that an encounter took place between a militant and the RR near a cave at Parshola 3 Km North East of Premnagar. However, the terrorist managed to escape from the cave and on search of the area body of a young lady was recovered. The deceased has been identified as 24 year Shama Begum, wife of Javid @ Jishan sector commander of HM outfit. The search operation to apprehend the militant was still in progress when the reports last came in. Three blankets, one mattress, 10 kg assorted rations; one plastic Jeri- cane and utensils were recovered from the cave.
A Police spokesman said that a Commando Group of Rajouri and NCA of 16 RR conducted a search operation in the general area of Talian forest in Kalakote and busted
hide out and recovered one .303 rifle, two grenades, two AK magazines, 40 AK rounds, one set of Radio antenna, three cassettes and a book of Al- Badar outfit.
During a joint operation launched by 39RR and Commando group Mendhar, two persons namely Mohammed Azam son of Hukam Dad and Kaka Khan son of Jan Mohammed both residents of Banola carrying gunny bags were apprehended in the area. During search of their bags two hand grenades, one combat pouch, other eatables and some woolen clothes were recovered from the apprehended persons.
They being interrogated and their involvement in militant related activities are not ruled out.
