BJYM protest against CM’s provocative remarks | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Sep 5: Continuing its attack on the provocative and anti-national statement of State Chief Minsiter Omar Abdullah, hundreds of BJYM activists led by their state president Munish Sharma held a spirited peaceful protest demonstration at Maheshpura Chowk, Jammu on Monday and burnt his effigy. While the BJYM activists were peacefully demonstrating against the statement of Omar Abdullah, they were attacked by police without any provocation and physically man-handle. BJYM state president Munish Sharma alongwith Parimoksh Seth, Vijay Choudhary, Munish Khajuria, Sanjay Baru, Sheetal Singh and numerous others received injuries and had to go for first aid. Leading the protest demonstration, Munish Sharma said that Omar Abdullah should restrain from making such statements which hurt the nationalist people who have always stood for the unity and integrity of the country and the personnel of armed forces who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of India and its people. It is a gross disrespect and dishonour to the memory of martyrs of security forces, who sacrificed their lives for safe-guarding the life of the MPs and for upholding integrity of the highest temple of democracy, the Parliament of India. He said while on the one hand Omar Abdullah government tried to stop the Tiranga Yatra, which was heading to Lal Chowk to unfurl the tricolor on January 26, 2011 giving reason that it will disturb the peace in the state and on the other hand he is demanding pardon for Afzal Guru citing the same reasons. It is very painful that he is comparing unfurling of tiranga in Kashmir which is an integral part and parcel of India with clemency to a terrorist, whose conviction has been upheld by the highest court of the country and whose clemancy petition has been very rightly rejected by the President of India. Munish Sharma warned Omar Abdullah that he should stop challenging the nationalist people, otherwise the BJYM will continue its strong protest demonstrations against such uncalled for utterances and expose his anti-national mind set. He also asked the Congress to make its stand clear over the statement of Omar Abdullah. The stoic silence on part of the Congress is indicator that for this party chair is more important than the nation, nation’s interests in the state, honour of the Constitution, the Parliament and office of the President of India. Sanjay Baru, Surinder Choudhary, Vijay Choudhary, Vipin Shastri, Parimoksh Seth, Bharat Sharma, Ajay Vaid, Vikas Sharma, S. Sheetal Singh, Karan Sharma, Karunesh Gupta, Munish Khajuria, Manumanav Mahajan, Tarun Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Naveen Dogra, Sham Lal, Jeet Angral, Praduman Singh, Dinesh Gupta, Balwan Singh, Raj Kumar, Pandey, Sham Lal and Ravi Kiran were prominent among those who took part in this protest demonstration.
