KPs want Shardapeeth pilgrimage to be included in Indo-Pak CBMs

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 5- On the auspicious occasion of Sharda Ashtami a grand function was organized in Sanjeevni Sharda Kendra(SSK) here on Monday. A Yajna was also performed on the occasion which concluded with Purnahuti .

The function was presided over by noted linguist and scholar Prof. P. N Trisal. Prem Kumar ji, Kshetriya Seh Pracharak, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) was the Chief Guest.
Annual Sharda Puraskar was awarded to Late Prof. Sri Nath Tickoo of Mattan for his outstanding contribution in the field of culture and popularsing Sharda script, the original script of Kashmiri language.
On the occasion President of SSK, T.N Pandita as a part of the Kendra outreach programme to re-establish and re-start functioning of various temples in Kashmir handed over utensils worth Rs 47000 to President, Devasthan Prabandhak Samiti, Village, Hawl in Pulwama District for the village temple.
In his address Prem Kumar ji outlined the need for re-start of historical Sharda pilgrimage to the fabled shrine of Goddess Sharda situated in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. He re-itereated that Goddess Sharda represents the ethos of India and the pilgrims from the country should be allowed to visit the historical shrine. He lambasted the Central Government for its failure to put up the matter with Pakistan despite the assurance of Pak Foreign Minister that they had no hesitation to allow pilgrims to visit the shrine. He castigated the Central Government for its double speak and not appreciating the sentiments of millions of Hindus across the world. He asked the community to unite and launch a co-ordinated struggle so that they repair to their homes in the valley.
Porf. P.N. Trisal in his address outlined the salient aspects of Sharda Ashtami and Goddess Sharda in historical and cultural perspective. He said that Goddess Sharda is the bedrock of Kashmiri consciousness and asked people to propagate Sharda script and Kashmiri language among young generation and children. He praised the efforts of SSK for promoting cultural traditions of Kashmir.
Poetess Santosh Nadan presented Bhajans. Hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the function. Pradeep Kaul conducted the programme. Prasad was distributed at the conclusion of the function.
