BJP’s one-day conclave held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 6: One-Day conclave of BJP comprising senior leaders, state officer bearers district prabharis and presidents and MLAs was held here today to finalize the programmes of “Chintan Baithaks” (Introspection meetings) and “Parshikshan vargs” (training workshops) for each of the districts in the next two months in the state. While addressing the meeting, Shamsher Singh Manhas president BJP emphasized on importance of carrying out party programmes with commitment giving the slogan of “One booth—ten youth” as the mean to achieve a 10% gain in votes in the next elections. Each polling booth should be under care of atleast two youths in age group 18 to 25 years and atleast two women and SC activists, he emphasized. The morning session began with lightening of traditional lamp by State President Shamsher Singh Manhas and senior leaders including National Executive Member & former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh, National Executive Member & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, acting leader of BJP legislative party Jugal Kishore Sharma, National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra singh, State Vice-president Chander Prakash Ganga, State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A), Intellectual Cell Convenor Chander Mohan Sharma, State Press Secretary Balbir Ram and party MLA Shyam Choudhary. Manhas referred to recent anti-national statements by Omar Abdullah and wondered how the government of India was tolerating a chief minister, who repeatedly questioned the Supreme Court’s verdict on Afzal Guru. Ashok Khajuria lashed out at Omar Abdullah and said India is the only country where such a CM was being tolerated. Had such a statement been made by a leader on other country’s soil, the person would have been behind the bars facing case of sedition. He said NC was hand in glove with Hurriyat conference while the Congress party is a sinking ship. Similarly, the PDP has also proved to be working on communal lines, thus promoting the cause of separatists. Nirmal Singh, while addressing the meeting, said that BJP activists in J&K has to work in peculiar situation as the party’s role is being watched by nationalist people. Whole of the country has expectations from us. Our mission is pious but difficult still it is our duty towards our motherland to work for strengthening the national forces. Jugal Kishore Sharma, on this occasion, proposed a resolution for constituting Election Committee which was unanimously adopted. The responsibility to constitute the committee was given to the state president. Sharma said that there is a wrong impression going in certain section that BJP is facing bad phase. Mir, Jasbir Singh Lucky, Sakina Bano, Karan Singh, Munish Sharma, Subash Bhagat, Suraj Padha, Keshav Dutt, Dina Nath Bhagat, Raj Kumar Sharma, Dalip Singh, Ramesh Sharma, J.R. Gupta, N.D. Rajwal, Narinder Singh, Mohan Singh Rana, Sanjiv Kumar, Sushil Kumar Sudan, Ganesh Basotra and Inderjit Sharma were also present,
