Hundred of youth joins PDP

9/6/2011 8:39:56 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar Sep 6: In a greeting gesture PDP spokesperson Nayeem Akhter today welcomes hundreds of youth along with their representative Aabid Hussain Kapra from district Srinagar who joined PDP.
In a press statement issued here the party spokesperson has said that the move is in a positive direction.

Nayeem Akhter said that because of the suppressive policy of ruling government our youth is suffocated, depressed and have lost hope. It has adopted an anti youth move backed by PSA’s on the name of creating normalcy. But they don’t understand it is their wrong adaptive measures towards youth from last two decades which is the root cause of their disturbance.

While addressing them at party headquarters, Nayeem Akther emphasized that they should go through the Self Rule document and read what PDP’s ideology, vision and road map is for the self sustaining and progressive Jammu & Kashmir.

On highlighting the economic potential of J&K, he said “We are self sufficient in terms of resources. We are rich in water sources and our water potential is to generate electricity of worth rupees 50,000 crore annually. We don’t have to depend on the financial aid of centre”. This draws a huge round of applause from the youth present there.

He said that self rule not only speaks of political solution but also seeks the road map and strategy of how to empower our state economically. “J&K has a strategic location. We have common borders with India, Pakistan and China and we can become a buffer state and a platform for the trade engagement between the three.” He also said opening of roads from all sides for trade and commerce was our main motive. It will liberate the psychological barriers between the people and harness the cordial atmosphere and ease out the tension.

Beside Nayeem Akhter others who spoke on the occasion include state secretary Abdul Hamid Koshin, general secretary youth Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo and district president Srinagar Jahangir Wani.
