| Supporting environment offers a window of opportunity: Mufti | | |

PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed has said the prevailing supporting environment in the Sub Continent is offering a window of opportunity fore permanent and peaceful settlement of Jammu & Kashmir dispute.
In a statement issued by him here on Monday, a day after his arrival in Delhi where called on Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and briefed him about the meetings and interactions he had with US think tanks and Kashmir groups during his month long New York visit, Sayeed said "there is a need for well articulated views to emerge from the state that can form the basis of a fruitful dialogue for a practical and implementable solution of long pending dispute".
During his meeting with Prime Minister, Sayeed told Dr Manmohan Singh that the Indo-Pak peace process catalysed by Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) has built a conducive atmosphere for initiating practical measures for lasting resolution of Jammu & Kashmir dispute'. |
