| SVO presents challan against JE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 06: State vigilance organisation (SVO) today presented challan in the
court of special judge anti-corruption here against Purshtom Lal Sharma, junior
engineer, Marh block, who was caught red-handed on January 20 last while demanding
and accepting Rs 6,000 as bribe from the complainant.
According to the SVO case, Jagbandhan Singh had been alloted a contract for the
construction of shamshan ghat at Marata in 2007.
After the construction was over, the contractor asked the JE to process the bill for
which he allegedly demanded Rs 6,000 as bribe.
The contractor then approached SVO which laid a trap on January 20, 2011, and
arrested the JE while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 6,000.
After completion of investigation, SVO presented the challan today in the court of law.
