Inter-state car lifters gang busted, four held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 6: Jammu police on Tuesday busted an inter-state gang of car lifters by arresting four persons; three are residents of Muradabad and one of Srinagar. Police also recovered a stolen Scorpio car from them. Informed sources said that the four member gang including a woman used to lift cars from Jammu and Kashmir and later deliver these vehicles in Muradabad and Meerut. Sources further said that the gang had stolen 11 vehicles from various parts of Jammu in recent few months. Vehicle lifters gang was busted when during naka checking, police intercepted a Scorpio vehicle and during checking of the documents, it was revealed that the car was of stolen. A Kashmiri youth and a woman were sitting in the car when police intercepted the vehicle. Later on their disclosure, police conducted a raid in a city based hotel- Hotel Swastik falls under the jurisdiction of Residence Road police and arrested two more vehicle lifters. Though, police did not mention their names owing to more arrests and recoveries, but sources confirm their names as Shabeer Khan,Shameem, Shameema Akhtar, all residents of Muradabad and Shakeel Hussain of Kulgam. Their interrogation was in progress in Channi Himmat based safe house and more arrests and recoveries are expected. However, during initial interrogation, sources said that they admitted to have a tool kit to open luxury cars, which were parked in various sectors. The same was also seized by police.
