| Programme on talk, trivia and theater held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sep 6: Model Academy, organized a programme entitled ‘Talk, Trivia and Theater’ in collaboration with the cultural affairs office of the US.Embassy –New Delhi
.Lydia Barraza, assistant cultural affairs officer of the US embassy was the chief guest on this occasion and director Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) Renu Gupta was the guest of honour.
Lydia Barraza interacted with the students of the school and touched upon various areas where both India and the US are influencing each other such as education, entertainment, politics, fashion, economic development, science and technology etc.
She also discussed with the students how they can collaborate with their American counterparts on issues such as environment, global warming and peace.
She also exhorted for a high level of cultural exchange between the students of the two countries.
After the interaction, a movie titled ’Oceans’ was shown to the students, which had been created by Disney studios. The movie show was followed by a Quiz on the various facets of United States conducted by the cultural officer.
Ramesh Jain, senior programme officer of the American center also accompanied the cultural officer. Others present on the occasion were Adit Gupta, joint director MIER, Rupa Gupta, principal and Usha Gadoo, vice principal.
Adit Gupta welcomed the honoured guests and said that this visit strengthens the relationship between the two institutions. He further added that both India and America have lots to offer each other both in cultural and educational terms.
