| 3 militants among 4 killed | | |

Three militants are among four persons killed in militancy related incidents during last 24 hours in Jammu & Kashmir State.
According to reports reaching here, sleuths of police and 16 BN of CRPF laid an ambush in village Peethikoot Chandagi Bandipora in the wee hours during which militants fired upon the ambush party. The heavy exchange of fire between the militants and security forces resulted in the killing of a militant identified as Gulbadan Khan R/O Rawalpindi Pakistan, while one SOG personnel Balraj Singh no:726/IRP also got injured. The recovery of two grenades, one pistol and one pistol magazine from the possession of slain militant is being claimed.
Meanwhile unidentified gun men shot dead one Waseem Ahmed Zargar S/O Ghulam-ud-Din Zargar R/O Mohalla Mohalla Mir Shab Baramulla at Mohalla Mir Shab Baramulla. The deceased was tailor by profession.
It has been also learnt that sleuths of 23 RR laid a siege around village Kathri in Lablatha Banihal area during which militants got engaged into an encounter with army personnel. The heavy exchange of fire between the militants and security forces resulted in the killing of two militants of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen with one of them identified as Qasim Gojar S/O Shamas-ud-Din R/O Banihal, while as identity of the other one could not be ascertained. |
