| BJP releases booklet on Srinagar's 'Defense Land Scam' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sep 7 :Bharatiya Janata Party here today released a booklet on scam of 200 acres of Air Force land at Srinagar Airport.
BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas flanked by senior BJP leaders and chief spokesperson Dr Jitrender Singh this afternoon unveiled a booklet on 1000 crore Defense Land Scam.
‘’From time to time we have informed the Central Government about the scam of 200 acres of Air Force land grabbed by two land mafias’ in connivance with Revenue and Defense officials,’’ Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters at a press conference here today.
Mr Manhas alleged that 200 acres of land grabbed by the mafia has further been transferred to private contractors.
‘’A BJP delegation also met Union Defense Minister A K Antony in New Delhi and detailed him about the scam and he assured a thorough probe into the matter,’’ Mr Manhas added.
He said the Defense Ministry has given one-month ultimatum to ascertain the facts and figures adding, ‘’a special delegation from the Ministry of Defense will also visit Srinagar to find out the ground realities.’’ ‘’The BJP investigative team has unearthed Rs 1000 crore land scam at Budgam and Army’ 15 Corps headquarters in Srinagar,’’ the party president said and added that in Badami Bagh, the defense and revenue officials have confirmed that the land has been illegally grabbed.
The report on land scam has been prepared by the BJP National Secretary and member of Parliament Dr Kirit Somaiya.
