CS inspects Juvenile Home at Harwan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, September 07:- Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today inspected the Juvenile Home at Harwan and took stock of the facilities being created there. The Juvenile Home has been established at a cost of Rs 4.11 Crore. The centre would act as an important centre of reforms where neglected Juveniles and minor detainees could be nurtured mentally and physically to become normal and responsible citizens. They would also be provided training in different skills to enable them to take substantial economic activity for livelihood after coming out of the juvenile home. The Chief Secretary while interacting with the concerned officials asked them to make necessary arrangements for healthcare of the inmates and other needs adding that linkages for the purpose must be established with hospitals and concerned departments. He also stressed on designing proper sports activities in the centre for which facilities have already been created within the complex. Necessary staff including the warden to run the routine affairs of the juvenile home has already been deployed. Social welfare department has also released Rs 32 lakh for providing furnishing, bedding, furniture and other items to the centre. The Juvenile home will be run under the overall supervision of Deputy Director ICDS Kashmir Chief Secretary was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Mr. Jeet Lal Gupta, IGP Kashmir Mr.S.M Sahai, Director Social Welfare Hilal Ahmad Parray and other senior officers.
