Tariq Manhas said that Sheesh Mehal Poonch is a historical monument, earlier known by the name Rani Attalia Palace, it was constructed by Raja Jagat Dev Singh.
DFO Poonch said that Oaks seen growing in the area are Quercus leucotrichophora (Chitta Banj), (Q.glauca (Reenh Banj), Q. baloot (Eeru Banj).
