Rajouri wins by 5 wkts in women cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Sports & Allied News JAMMU, Sept 07: District Rajouri today registered a superb five-wicket win over the combined side of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) XI to advance in the ongoing inter-district women’s under-19 (Twenty20) cricket tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, DYSS XI set a target of 95 runs for the loss of eight wickets, which, in reply, Rajouri girls chased in 14.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Pooja was top scorer with 16 runs while Komal and Neelam contributed 13 and 10 runs respectively. From Rajouri district, Gita Devi claimed two wickets while Parveen and Vishava Bharti shared apiece each. Later, Rajouri kept the scoreboard moving taking singles and doubles amidst a lot of extras. The target was achieved for the loss of five wickets sparing 5.2 overs of the innings. Shilpa and Aditi were main contributors with 12 runs each. From DYSS XI, Komal was most successful bowler who took three wickets for 24 runs in three overs while Babika bagged one. Today’s match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Madan Mohan while Farooq Ahmed was scorer.
