JAMMU, Sept 07: Judicial magistrate, Kathua, Aarti Mohan today convicted and
sentenced sepoy Jagir Singh for causing the death of a cyclist in a road accident.
While driving a scooter, Jagir had on May 17, 1999, hit a cycle near SICOP Morh in
Kathua, injuring Puran Chand and Dass Chand. Puran had later died.
After hearing the counsels of both sides, the court sentenced the accused to
imprisonment for one year and a fine of Rs 5000.
