Chairman can do anything: JKCA Secretary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 07: In the gentlemen’s game of cricket, there is hardly any space for those violating the set norms by the parent bodies, especially when the players are on the job in the field. But anything can happen in the state of Jammu and Kashmir because here rules are only for the common man and not for those occupying the higher positions. In one such incident, the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Mohd Aslam Goni, in sheer violation of the order on display at GGM Science Hostel College, drove his vehicle beyond the prescribed limit. While all the vehicles entering the play ground were parked just before the board with instruction, `Vehicles not allowed beyond this point’, one driven by the JKCA chairman stopped only in front of the dressing rooms. Moreover, the space where the vehicle was parked, was being repaired for patches by the ground staff. When contacted the joint secretary of the JKCA Jammu wing, Hardev Singh, who was accompanying the chairman, said, “He is chairman, he can do anything. How can we stop him or ask him not to drive beyond a particular point.” In the meantime, the ground incharge was visibly unhappy with the chairman’s unwarranted act. He said that rule is rule, every one should follow it to the true spirit of sports. ----- Caption: JKCA chairman, Mohd Aslam Goni drives his vehicle beyond the limit at GGM Science College Hostel ground Jammu on Wednesday.
