BJP protests against Omar’s remarks on Afzal Guru | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held massive protest under Mandal President Pushpa Wazir at canal road against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over his statement on Afzal Guru. Party activists also burnt the effigy of Omar Abdullah. Speaking on the occasion, Jammu Mahanagar District President Rajesh Gupta said that state chief minister’s statement favouring clemency for Afzal Guru has invited wide-spread resentment not only in the state but other parts of the country also. He said that a person no less than Chief Minister of a state and who is under the oath of the constitution makes such a statement which has the potential to provoke people to come on roads and demand action against him. He appealed the people not to get mislead by statements of Chief Minister and get united to defeat such elements whose one point agenda is to work on communal lines. Talab Tillo Mandal Prabhari Sanjay Baru said that Omar Abdullah is habitual of making such provocative statements which are insult to the patriotic people and encouragement to those who demand Azadi. Mandal President Pushpa Wazir said that the BJP activists have been coming on roads and protesting against statement of Chief Minister. Munish Sharma, N.D. Rajwal, Surinder Pargal, Rakesh Mishra, Ayodhya Gupta, Munish Khajuria, Jeet Angral, Puran Sharma, Tripta Jamwal, Raj Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Parveen Ghai, Vaishno Dutt, Ashok Gupta, Vikas Sharma, Rajeshwar Singh, Vijay Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Faqir Chand, Karan Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Gupta, Raghubir and Rajnit were prominent among those who took part in this protest demonstration.
