Omar denounces India, hails Pakistan and Congress mum | Out-of-Box K Solution | | Rustam JAMMU, Sept 7: Wikileaks, whistleblower website, has cleared all the cobwebs of confusion and clearly established that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wants an out-of-box solution to the so-called Kashmir issue. In fact, the Wikileaks released a cable yesterday claiming that the Valley-based NC leader and MP had in 2005 told the known India-baiter diplomat Dan Burton that India had no roadmap to solve the Kashmir issue and accused the Ministry of External Affairs of "shooting down proposals to resolve the Kashmir issue". According to the Wikileaks, Omar had said that the Indian Prime Minister "must think outside the box to solve the festering problem". According to the leaked cable, Omar had accused New Delhi of being content with the status quo" and asserted that the "joint cultural events were not able to help normalize Indo-Pak ties". Besides, he had allegedly told Burton that "Pakistan had gone further than India on the Kashmir issue". The Wikileaks expose vindicates those who have been repeatedly questioning the credentials of Omar Abdullah and saying that he is not a friend and well-wisher of India. The expose further establishes that he has scant regard for the country to which he belongs and that he, on the other hand, has been appreciative of aggressive, unscrupulous and fundamentalist Pakistan whose stated objective is to annex Jammu and Kashmir, cause communal tensions in India and balkanize the country. Besides, the Wikeleaks expose has established beyond any doubt that Omar Abdullah believes in an ideology that had culminated in the communal partition of India in 1947 and the creation of Muslim Pakistan. But more than that the expose has informed the Indian nation that Omar Abdullah had flirted with the likes of Dan Burton who have been consistently working against India and for the cause of Pakistan and the Kashmiri communalists and separatists since decades. Burton is one American diplomat who has never missed an opportunity to hit India below the belt and promote the cause of Pakistan and its Kashmir-based agents. The fact that Omar Abdullah allegedly told Burton that "Pakistan had gone further than India on the Kashmir issue" should make the nation sit down and ponder over what has promoted the likes of Omar Abdullah and given legitimacy to them and the kind of divisive and communal politics they indulge in to not only pander to a particular constituency but also to make common cause with those who have been bleeding India with a thousand-cut almost on a daily basis, destabilizing the Indian polity, attacking our Army, exporting terrorism to India and doing all that they could to de-link the Indian Jammu and Kashmir from India and integrate it into Muslim Pakistan. This is a must. Similarly, his suggestions that the Prime Minister must think outside the box to solve the Kashmir issue and that the status quo would not harmonize relations between India and Pakistan should also establish that he doesn't consider Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India and that he belongs to that school of thought that recognizes Pakistan as an important factor in the political situation in the Indian Jammu and Kashmir. What the Wikileaks cable revealed should not surprise anyone. For, Omar Abdullah has been making such anti-India suggestions, identifying himself completely with the communal forces in the Valley and airing what could be legitimately described as pro-Pakistan views ever since he entered into the political arena. To be more candid, Omar Abdullah has been treading the path his grandfather charted years ago to put the gullible Kashmiri Muslims on the road to separation on communal basis. However, what should surprise everyone in the country is the attitude of the Indian political class to the likes of Omar Abdullah. The Indian political class, instead of reining in the likes of Omar Abdullah, has been pampering them and enabling them to control the establishment and wreck the polity from within and outside. The worst aspect of the whole situation is that even the so-called custodians of the Indian State have utterly failed the nation by not only maintaining silence but also extending them overt and covert support to them to prove their secular credentials. Remember, New Delhi has not reacted to the Wikileaks expose that paints Omar Abdullah black and establishes that his entry into the political arena has further aggravated the religio-political scene in the state. |
