Mufti fires salvo on govt from Poonch | "People feel unsafe in Omar's Sarkar" | | Early Times Report POONCH, Sept 7: Criticising Omar led government, former Chief Minister, Mufti Muhamamd Sayed today said feeling were feeling unsafe in Omar's government. Addressing gathering at Poonch, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that government had failed to check human rights violations and every thing had gone out the control. "In our government, we had controlled everything and people had started living with dignity and peace but situation has once again deteriorated and people have started feeling unsafe again." Condemning custodial killings and fake encounters, Mufti said that government must do its job and control the situation as the situation had turned grim. On the Panchayat Raj, Mufti said that all the slogans of Omar Abdullah regarding powers of Panchayat turned hoax as nothing concrete power was given to the Sarpaches and panches. He said people should not forget the time of his 3 years of governance when everyone was feeling relaxed and comfortable. He said that he governed this state when there was terror from all sides and people were being forced to enter houses before 5 PM. He said that the situation has changed after he took over as CM. Appreciating former PM and BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mufti said that on his request Vajpayee shook hands with his Pakistani counterpart and situation of hostility changed into friendship. |
